I thought her calling Ushio "the egg" was in reference to Shinpei's eye, the one she gave him. She tried to take it, but couldn't, and said that cause and effect are looping to keep it, "the chicken or the egg". Her calling Ushio "the egg" was to go with Shinpei's eye not being able to be stolen.

Yeah she was definitely referring to the “chicken vs egg” dilemma she had just brought up beforehand when she called Ushio ‘the egg’. She was basically saying, “oh are you stronger than me/were you created before me?” Because she was so surprised that Ushio was managing to reverse the corruption back on her.

This feels more Re:Zero as they already told in this episode that he goes to parallel world, so that world he just died with poison got fucked. So he isn't going really back in time, but to different world where the situation isn't that far yet.

My own guess from this episode how his eye behaved and came back, it was shadow powers. So Ushio is the key to that power and like you said that "egg" whatever that means. First episode he got that eye from Ushio, but it's pretty clear it was the shadow Ushio that gave it to him.

Echidna never confirmed that that was actually the case. they said his power was that through his eye he was rendering the world and making what he sees a reality, so imo i feel like that implies that when he dies that world doesnt exist since he's no longer observing it.
