I really don't think it pushed any limits we haven't already seen on The Boys all that much. Still a great episode but with all the hype behind it, it was a bit of a let down to be honest

When the twins give up Noir, I don’t think he was the mastermind behind Soldier Boy’s kidnapping. I think a young Edgar was the mastermind, and Noir was the fall guy/instigator. In Grace’s flashback of Nicaragua, when we see Noir’s face reveal, the first thing that caused Grace to eavesdrop on that conversation at all was she heard Edgar say “Is everyone on board?” to which Noir says “Everyone except Gunpowder,” then they immediately start the conversation we see, which Grace doesn’t have any interest in which causes her to stop listening. This explains why so far everyone on the original team knew why he was angry and gave up some directly relevant info except for Gunpowder to Billy when all he knew was there was a cover up and they worked with the CIA.

This isnt good because the only reason why Homelander was struggling wasnt because it was 1v3 but rather he was shocked at Butcher and Hughies powers since I dont believe he knew about Temp V. Now that they werent able to kill him even after jumping him m1v3, he will be prepared nxt time.

Also, I don't think Homelander was losing his powers. People only lose their powers after they get hit by Soldier Boy's cyclops beam. I think the Tnt twins little beam fizzled out because like they said, they hadnt done it in years and it may have something to do with their personal connection. Since they're always at odds now, it probably messed with their powers. In Homelander's case, his eyes glow red whenever he feels hatred. His struggle to break free using all his strength is whats making his eyes glow, not because he was losing his powers. At least, that's how I've been interpreting it

More evidence for that is Soldier Boy literally can't control his powers. Plus, he had just used it minutes ago. It takes at least half a day to charge it. He used it during the day in Midtown when he blacked out. Then at night to kill Crimson countess. I highly doubt he was at full power. If his beam didn't just outright negate any powers around him, then Butcher, A-Train, the shrinking guy and Love Sausage all would have lost their powers too, but none of them did.

This was a great episode! The comic book version of Herogasm is even worst than what the show could do with the "Herogasm Arc". Homelander should be able to just pulp all 3 of them into a blood smoothie, but he has never had to learn how to fight, so he was sloppy and inefficient with his punches. It's unclear what the upper limit of his powers are, but he is supposed to be special. He was created in a lab and fed more Compound V than anyone else; he's supposed to be the Superman stand-in, even though he's nowhere near Superman. It's supposed to be an insurmountable task to take him down, even with someone like Soldier Boy. And he is always talking about how no one can stand up to him, how it would be futile. So yeah, a bit of a pussy move to fly away in the first real fight he's ever had.

It is futile, and I'm sorry, but nothing could make me so blind as to forget that the revenge I desperately need won't happen because the mf is bulletproof. And the scene when Homelander escaped, since Soldier Boy beam only affects other supe power when it contacts with them (many comments above mentioned it already), which also mean the boys powers were not weakened at that point, how could he get out from their grasp? Was it a sudden burst of power when he desperately tried to escape or… Although it might sound crazy at this point, but I think Butcher loosened his hold at that very moment to let Homelander go so Hughie won’t die. He did ask Hughie to run away and he also saw him as his brother Lenny from the previous episode, so I think it is not out of the realm of possibility now.

Hughie literally made those decisions himself. Hughie has been consistently lying and moving the lines that he stands on. He was complacent in why 12 people died just now, and they didn't even get Homelander. He was told by Butcher taking temp-V is bad, he was told by MM taking that shit was bad, then he told by Starlight taking that shit would be bad...and he still takes it. She is spittin, not shittin, Hughie may have valid insecurities but that does make it right to use those insecurities to leverage to justify he and by extension, Butcher and Soldier Boy's actions. Especially since she has been consistent with keeping the high ground and had the expectation that Hughie would too which is ultimately why she chose to be with him in the first place.

Hate that most of the “good guys” in this show are just a bunch of Vegetas with Starlight trying to rise to that Goku status. Surrounded by assholes—except MM—just doing evil shit with like one good thing thrown in so the ends justify the means of them running around for revenge. And that’s all they want. Hughie with helpless bs. He seemed super helpful the first two seasons with no powers 🤷🏾‍♂️

This show is like about scum and villainy though, and about most of the 'good guys' stooping down to that level to win or already truly being at the level in the first place. (Butcher, Frenchie, Hughie this season). Frenchie is like an amazing guy but he is also a contract killer and an extremely heavy druggy. This show is not about being pretty and righteous. It's about a group of gritty people with bad upbringings and loose morals attempting to do the right thing and ultimately (hopefully) make the world a better place. Kimiko is a child soldier whose killed who knows how many people, but we know she's not bad. I like that this show takes a very different approach on our 'real heroes' and how they are, vs. the 'superheroes.' (The bad guys in this story)
