After rewatching this movie dozens of times, I think I understand the opening scene. Aside from introducing the characters, and showing us their lives. It also stresses you out by having soo much going on. It's a headache to try to keep up with everything. Now imagine this is what Jobu feels like 24/7. She's everywhere, all that noise. It never goes away.

yes!!! just saw this in theaters days ago and it's easily the best movie i've seen this year (so far). can't wait to re-watch it with you guys! edit: lmao i'm 3 mins in and i'm cracking up at lupa being so confused at the constant switching between english/chinese. that's pretty common for bilingual/multilingual households. my parents and i would constantly switch between english and tagalog all the time when we're at home.

I haven’t felt this way about a movie in a long time, 10/10, amazing. Evelyn literally threw her pain at everyone and pushed them away. And you can say it’s due to how her father treated her. All the things she wanted, she didn’t try hard enough to get. A movie like this is hard to find.👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

when they do the spliterring of the screen it is showing a divergent timeline being created. remember wylan said "every decision make, everything you dont do, is done in another universe" so when she decided to put the receipt to the left, in another universe she put it to the right. pretty cool

Between this film and The Northman, the year is really starting out with some heavy hitters. Ironically, The Northman was a better epic/revenge experience for me in theaters than The Batman and this was a better cosmic/multiverse experience than Multiverse of Madness. Partially, I think comic book fatigue has reeeeeeaaalllyyy set in for a lot of people, especially when studios lose more and more touch with their fans and the source material. When fan favorite directors like Raimi and Reeves aren’t enough, it’s a sign.

It wasnt random, didnt you understand the concept of them having to do crazy things as a cost for them to aquire skillz from other time-lines. The crazier the cost the better the skill. I'm sorry her beating the dude with the dildo was one of the funniest parts of this movie. Dude it seems that alot this movie went over your head. The whole rock scene wasnt random lol. It was meant to display that since they were literally everywhere all at once experiencing everything, there was just no point to it all. So they just went and became rocks, it was representation of how little shit mattered to them to point of equating the wonders, joys and excitement of life to just being a still lifeless rock. Even in the movie they stated how peaceful it was just being damn near nothing and how much they even preferred it. Imagine knowing everything and being everywhere, there would be no thrill or mystery to life, my guy that was the point

If you want to put a purpose to it, stuff like that is what makes the movie fun. It makes alot of sense to me but I'm having trouble explaining it at the same time. Sure they could just make it a regular black hole, but it feels more creative and fun that this angsty omnipotent teen would try to put everything in the universe onto a bagel, and then it collapses into a black hole/everything bagel

In the beginning, they're actually speaking both Mandarin/Cantonese (two dialects of Chinese) mixed with English. Which is exactly what I speak at home with my family. Never realized how confusing this could be to people who don't know Chinese. Kinda cool to see the perspective through the movie and you guys. Love this movie!

It’s a multiversal movie showing the random possibilities throughout infinite worlds and despite the ones being the most bizarre still manages to be related to the story and feel relatable emotionally I don’t think they tried too hard at all if anything it was hilarious and they managed to blend everything perfectly

wow he's racist and homophobic on a joke movie that went through a lot of real topics. also no the mom wasn't ok with it she admitted it halfway through in her original life she was hiding it from her dad and herself because she didn't come to terms with the fact she didn't accept it until the end when she didn't care anymore because its not her life to worry about. also Joy was the one who wanted to tell him, why would she backtrack when she was so adamant about telling the grandfather. Joy didn't have a stereotypical Asian accent kinda messed up to mock her when you weren't even telling a joke you were just being an asshole. final point L + ratio + learn how to make a proper sentence if you want to mock an accent because your accent probably sounds the same
