This episode was fantastic this might be my favorite show of this season. Also, this really puts into perspective like in Re:zero if anyone was able to understand rbd Subaru could easily be confined with no way of starting from zero and easily be put on the sidelines and an antagonist could do whatever... Loving this show.

As a manga reader, the next few episodes are gonna be a wild ride.. not going into detail but they do a damn good job translating manga to anime and the pacing is 1 to 1 on time

There's some foreshadowing lost in translation in this episode for all you anime-only viewers. In episode 2, when glasses lady is watching Shinpei and Shiori at the funeral and recording herself, she uses the personal pronoun "watashi", which is a more feminine way to refer to yourself. But in this episode, she uses the personal pronoun "boku" which is more masculine and usually associated with young boys. Just something to keep in mind...

So, I'm wondering if everyone still thinks Sou is a shadow this ep or regular human. I thought he was a shadow based on his weird remark last episode, but this ep he immediately recognized Ushio and seemed wary and confused of shadow Shin so idk that seems like a regular human response.

its obvious, once they started talking about dimensions that gave it away to me. Something supernatural wouldn't be talking about something sci-fi like that subject( by the way i know other dimensions aren't made up, but you get my point). To further my thought on why i think they are aliens too. The show makes it a point to point out they are living and not something like ghosts are some kind of monster the defies logic, with that in mind they aren't something that can be of earth with abilities like that have. Well still please don't confirm things, i say this and been wrong with other situations in other shows i thought was obvious.

I think the hint to knowing that that shinpei was a shadow was that he was using the the island dialect instead of talking properly like he usually does.

ushio is so not a shadow. i dont know what she is (a ghost? do ghosts bleed in this universe?) no need for her to keep up a ruse or for shadown shin to attack her. what i dont get is why characters dont scream for bloody murder. he was stifling his screams. like NO! "AHHHHHH THIS BITCH JUST BROKE MY ARM! SHE TRYING TO KILL ME! HELP!!!!!!!!!!" THATS logical, not just laying there letting yourself get clapped. true blood, flash, from, literally any show ever people do this and i dont get why. why help the bad guys stay a secret and get away with killing you?

When she was hanging upside down from the three she was recording a briefing. I thought she was recording a briefing she was going to send later on to her boss/organization. But what if she was actually briefing her other personality? Makes sense why in this episode she mentions she has never eaten the food, which name I don't recall, but she was suggesting in the recording that he should eat it. I also remember she suggested to him to hung upside down because that way the blood will flow to the head faster helping him think better, and Roshi said that that is not how it works or something along those lines. Am I correct?

Think you haven't listened to him talking he "Original" Shinpei is talking in Island dialect as he is from that island. I think the hint like even the show told us, was the flash in earlier in episode in that corridor where he almost already died, then him running suddenly alone from the crowd that he might not be Shin when he comes back to the group. Anyway all the answers were already given, but the dialect isn't a hint as both of them talk same dialect. Although not sure what that "Narezushi" reference was from agent titties.

I wouldn't go that far yet for Agent Titties, she was recording while on that tree branch, but I think she was in contact with her boss while spying on Shin as wasn't he walking below her on the road on that scene. Her having a shotgun and a gun is big giveaway that she is some kind of Agent who is investigating this "Shadow" business in this Island.

Impossible, there are 139 chapters and the anime will adapt maybe 40-50% of that? If you like the story, you should read it. It's pretty light to read and overall is a good manga

Obviously. Im not comparing the show rather I enjoy the the themes they share. You see it across multiple shows, Tokyo Revengers, Erased, Higurashi, Steins Gate. When one has control over time life becomes way more stressful for the protagonists. Ofc ReZero is a fantasy Isekai and Summertime Render is a Sci-fi Thriller, but regardless of what you say there are alot of similarities between the two. i wouldnt be surprised if ReZero and Higurashi were possible inspirations. and lets be honest if anyone says “yo this show is fire dude!! Any recommendations for other shows?” ReZero and Higurashi would probably be at the top of the List
