WOOO BEEN WAITING FOR THIS LETS GOOOO! So at the end of this you see Pike walk away. In real life, at that time in the story Ashley Johnson(pike) got a job working on NBC's Blindspot and was on the completely opposite end of the country and so couldn't make it to a lot of the games. This was a really cool way for the show to lean into that. I'll have more fun background info after i finish watching lol.

quick detail that like 99% of people miss, in the flashback scenes where Percy and his sister are fleeing, you can see their fingertips bleeding, and missing their fingernails. THAT kind of torture.

This show is so AMAZING with the tiny details. If you look in Percy's flashback, you can see when he and his sister were reaching for eachother's hands that neither of them had fingernails, evidence of their torture at the hands of the Briarwoods. That visual storytelling is insane.

I absolutely ADORE how this show depicts DnD battles. Because sometimes you absolutely blow the enemy away, you come in prepared, have good rolls and absolutely fuck them over. Other times, it is tense and frustrating and you barely scrape by just going, "FUCK FUCK KILL IT!" and bum rushing it as soon as you have any kind of advantage.

I love how these guys knew what time it was when they saw that the ghouls weakness was light. They made sure to keep hitting them and kept stomping on them until they knew they were down for the count

Vox Machina are a ragtag group, but they're established adventurers. In game terms, they're going to be stronger and more experienced than random NPCs and average soldiers. It's still kind of plot armor, but there's a reason for it.

Lmfao - literally *EVERY* single black reactor I've watched has referred to Jarrett as "Wakanda brother" or some such reference. Fun fact, that voice is Eugene Byrd, aka Wink from 8 Mile. Yep. Ashley Johnson. She was also Gretchen in the old cartoon Recess. And Vex is Abby in The Last Of Us 2. She's also Kid Trunks in DBZ, Shin Chan, Lust in Fullmetal Alchemist and a million other things. Look into the cast for this show. The main cast who played them in the original DnD game, even if you don't KNOW you know them, I can guarentee you've heard each one of them in SOMETHING.

So D&D insight, those "ghosts" are what's known as a wraith. Wraiths can move through objects and are weak to sunlight. They have an ability that drains creatures of their life, literally reducing a player's total HP by the damage they take. The black ink goo that's coming out of the characters is probably their representation of necrotic damage. I really like how they did them here in the show.

They're also infamous, along with wights, for killing low level parties who sometimes have no counters for them. They can be super dangerous to non-magical characters (as we see in the show).

i have the same perspective as you roshi. definitely gets better with each ep. each episode gets me more and more into the show and the characters. a slow burn from ok to good to now almost great. im still waiting for that one impactful moment that makes me go "DAMN! i love this show". with game of thrones it was season one's finale with the dragons being born and ned dying. i feel like if pike or kelith gets a level up or the origin of percy's shadow self will be that for me.

Yeah what were they like LV13 at this point in the story? For those that don't play DnD any campaign after LV10 is essentially high level combat since DnD only goes up to LV20 and it's super common to end campaigns before reaching LV10
