Tricking Korosensei into using his molt ability wasn't just so they can see his expressions. He can also use it to protect himself from external attacks. It's how he survived Nagisa's suicide bomber assassination attempt in episode one. Now he has one less defense mechanism.

One thing about the motion sickness - if you notice they do keep trying to clap him, but he's still quick and dodges. You can even see it in that scene where they take a swipe and he dodges.
