I almost forgot this show is pure hype. Like that fight doesn't make sense but the rule of cool overrules it by a million light years. Also, I wish they also saw the version of the fight in the movie.

Sheera, using Spiral power makes no difference; They literally made it a point to explain that it's the culmination of the natural growth of spiral energy throughout the universe that is the threat; Simon could 100% be God at this point if he wanted to.

I definitely think you guys should at least look up the final fight in the second movie to watch on your own time, because that goes so hard. Somehow it's infinitely more hype than even the show's version and ends in a literal fistfight against what's basically a god.

after further review of skimming the whole movie isn't worth a full reaction it just a cut down version of the anime with a few extra scenes added in here and there but the last fight would be cool for them to check it out. It was great regardless it just added some extra things

Now you guys need to watch Studio Gainax last animation series called "Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt". It has western animation and amazing battles too. I think it's right up your alley. I also suggest "Super Crooks". It's like Great Pretender but with Superheroes and Supervillains. That's all and I enjoyed your reaction guys!

That was a trip. I remember getting so hyped when I was younger when they start running at the bad guy slowly downgrading to just Lagan! Me and my friends just yelling "gooooooo!" I mean look at Lord Jerome in comparison. He was way older and still kicking ass, even when he was just a head. Just felt like a lazy ending imo. I'm all for the message of entrusting the future to the next generation, but no reason to just sit on the sidelines when there's still a threat to deal with... but I digress~ I know that's just me being picky Dx

I get it myself. When i first seen it I was so confused on the timeline, because he looked so only while everyone else seemed to just age at most 10 years. Pretty sure he was only 21 in the final battle so even if you double that hes barely middle aged.

Upon rewatching the movie I guess I kinda get it. Simon is burned out, the majority of the OGs from Dai Gurren died on that final fight, and then his wife who he sacrificed everything for turns into particles anyway, He deserved a break from the BS, It ended pretty solid I guess just kinda wish they didnt skip forward to them being so old and from the looks of it uninvolved on the current fight. Last thing we needed to see was Hobo Simon, when we just had Galaxy Destroyer Simon minutes earlier.

There are two things that I would definitely consider checking out after this, the first is a movie called Dead Leaves, made by one the of the creators of Trigger. The other is a much softer series called Kobayashi's Dragon Maid. A slice of life basically, but the fight scenes go absolutely off the rails in animation detail. Also a catchy as hell OP.

The movies basically recap the story but completely reanimates most of the fights. Now that you guys know the plot I highly recommend you all give the movies a shot. The second movie is particularly good

I hate people who do this but Sweet Home was seriously edited and a lot of the hype was sapped out of the Webcomic cause apparently the author wanted it edited, unfortunately. Other than that the effects are cool, I just found it very rushed.
