You guys are going to enjoy the hell out of this show, when I first watched it back in 2019, I thought it was a show that I would watch a few episodes of and never finish, but as I kept watching I started to get really hooked on it and now it's one of my favorite anime that I've seen, the characters are compelling and so is the drama.

As someone who watched this show when I was in like....middle school, I think? And seeing the first episode with you guys now as a 20 year old, it makes me cringe because of how outdated it feels. Or it might just be me that grew out of romance animes as most are cliché

the joke is that Taigas name is very clearly Romaji of the English word Tiger, Ryujis name is Japanese for dragon, and the title Tora is Japanese for Tiger and Dora comes from the romaji of the english word Dragon (Do-Ra-Gon) so the syllables swap

Aint gonna lie, no one is helping Taiga in real life because of how she acts. Ryuji is either just a extremely nice guy or the biggest simp guy ever. Thats my gripe wit the show, I never really liked Taiga. Just narcissist type characters, never could fuck wit; also could never understand why u would be a dog or a pet for a persons gain lmaoo

YES I absolutely love Hyouka a lot of people think it’s boring but there’s a lot that plays into it the mystery puzzles romance even a lil comedy here and there I love the pacing and how the story feels like the novel the writing is amazing and a lot of people don’t like it because it bores them at first I thought Oregairu was boring but it grew and is one of my favorites now idk why I just wrote this but I totally agree with them watching Hyouka at some point later on because there’s too many other shows that are winning polls and coming up

Lol I feel you but I would say Ryuuji is just an extremely nice guy that gets a bad reputation just cause of his face. He probably didn't care about how Taiga acts cause all he sees is someone that needs help and just plays along with her antics. But yeah irl I ain't doing things for someone that acts like that.

interesting, for the few animes i watched in dub i always assumed they were part of those short list of few dubs ppl actually accept like dbz and etc but atleast so far seems like me having watched the toradora dub yeeears ago was an outlier seeing as most ppl here are rooting for the sub

Late reply but I half agree with you. When I first watched Toradora I also had to stop after a few episodes because I couldn't stand Taiga and her bitchy attitude. But I eventually continued the show because of Ryuji, because I wanted to see someone as kind as him achieve his happiness. The fact that he does help Taiga is a testament to his character and how he just goes above and beyond other people, and once I finished the show I was able to appreciate the huge development that Taiga went as a character as well as what happened in her life that made her turn out that way.
