Oh boy, I’m excited to see your faces on the kizu3 end cuz there’s no amount of anime knowledge going to help you guess how this thing is about to wrap up. Also interested in how you going to react to “build up” to the culmination (I don’t know if you remember what was in bake flashback so I don’t want to spoil if you don’t) cause that one of the most bizarre if not THE most bizarre shit I’ve seen in anime and I’ve seen a lot. Kizumonogatari means 'Wound Story' or in this case, as it was said in the start of the first film 'Scar Story' and at the end of this film Araragi says i'm a monster 'bakemono' which typically refers to yokai or monsters so Bakemonogatari meaning 'Monster Story' referencing how that season is just him running into mad oddities or 'monsters'

You guys didn't noticed it but throughout this movie, he doesn't have a shadow or reflection anymore. For Hanekawa's oddity, if I remember correctly, this all happened before the Golden Week, so at this point, she still doesn't have the cat oddity. I also love the relationship between Hanekawa and Araragi here especially the repaying his debt to her knowing what's going to happen in the future series. The fight between Araragi and Guillotine Cutter, they didn't put it in the movie but in the light novels, Hanekawa asked him what he's going to be if he became inhuman and he said that he's going to be a plant/tree. That's what you see here in their fight and his name in Kanji is written like a tree. Can't wait for your reaction to the last Kizu movie, it's going to be amazing.

After watching this I really can't believe that they didn't make Araragi and Hanekawa a thing in bakemonogatari cause they have a good relationship with each other, have good chemistry and she was there for him through this whole life changing moment. I guess it's mostly her personality though cause if she was more assertive like Senjougahara Araragi would've most likely went out with her.

Ara Araragi

Hanekawa getting possessed by the cat oddity takes place after the events of the movies, but before Araragi meets Senjougahara. Hanekawa was possessed during Golden Week, turned back to normal by Shinobu (formerly Heart-Under-Blade), then possessed again during the Tsubasa Cat arc. Roshi was right that the cat oddity was white. Sheera was right that giving Hanekawa a cat mouth and the scene with the stray cat were mainly just nods to what's going to happen to her in the future.

I think, Araragi only wants her because of his horniness and not love unlike with Senjougahara where they actually develop their feelings for each other. I still ship Hanekawa with Araragi though.

Yeah that's true but the way Araragi acts around her makes it seem like it's more than just horniness but to him it's probably like having a best friend that he can be his true self around. I really do ship them too but the Senjougahara ship isn't bad either.

Although he finds her attractive, he deifies Hanekawa; he doesn't see her as an equal, but as a model saviour to whom he is indebted. Senjougahara, on the other hand, made it impossible for Araragi to view her in a similar light: she doesn't really aim for perfection, and pretty much wears her flaws openly in front him. Basically, he's had the opportunity to "really" know Senjougahara, but not Hanekawa - at least, not in a manner that would extend beyond mere paragon (e.g., "Man, you really do know everything", and the conversation after the incident with Episode). It's one of the reasons why it makes narrative sense that he doesn't really pursue her.

This is a major key point lol every person I've shown this movie would get annoyed that she kept popping up. Like dude why would I want to go home to terrible parents. So, those weren't baseballs Arararararagi lobbed at the end, they were shot-puts. He threw the baseballs to fake Dram out, get him used to being pelted with weak ass shit, so when the REAL threat came at him, he wouldn't bother dodging. Also that thing he was going to hit him with, is the heavy ass roller they used to flatten down baseball fields. They're usually pulled by tractor because the ones they usually use weigh in around a ton or two.

Yeah Hanekawa doesn't get cat until after this but before Bake. Also looking forward to seeing y'all reaction to a certain scene in the third movie.

it's always just Araragi and one other character, the streets are empty because it's from his perspective, he is telling the story (monogatari)... he just doesn't find it important what's around him

Watching Kizu again just makes me more confused at how heavily araragi and hanekawa are set up to be a couple only to both admit they love each other to the point araragi enshrines her as his IDEAL girl and never actually get together. Him and senjous relationship in the series always felt forced and out of place and they constantly break up and get back together so dramatically it made the later novels super annoying to read thru.
