Sakura didn't leave because she was disappointed but because she just doesn't want to trouble Shirou. Saber's last attack against Berserker was animated by Nozomu Abe who also did almost every cool zenitsu moment and the final attack in episode 19 of demon slayer, as well as Rengoku's attack against Akaza at the end of Mugen Train, and more. Next movie visually is probably the best. So enjoy!

So a bit of info that I don’t believe is mentioned in the next movie. When Illya mentioned Kishur Zelretch, and talked about a magicians treasure, there is a reason that is so significant. Basically in the Nasuverse there are two types of magic. There is magecraft and then there is magic, or true magic. Magecraft is what all of the characters use, it is something that can technically be recreated with technology. Like Shirou creating swords, well a blacksmith could also recreate a sword. Shooting a fireball, that could be done with a flamethrower, stuff like that. And the people who use magecraft are call Magus. Magic on the other hand is different. It can’t be recreated by technology, it’s more along the lines of a miracle, and much more powerful. To give an idea of the strength, Reality Marbles are often talked about as being the closest to true magic a non-magician can get. And the people who use true magic are called Magicians, Kishur Zelretch is a magician. This doesn’t actually give away anything plot wise, and instead just helps to let you understand the significance of that little sentence Illya said. I hope people find this helpful or interesting. (Also I know magic and magecraft aren’t the only things in the Nasuverse, I was just trying to simplify this.)

Cool thing about Gilgamesh, if you notice he didn’t turn into sparkles after being killed, and of course that’s because he was incarnated after the fourth war. But I just thought it was interesting, because we didn’t see his body last time because he was swallowed by the grail. Although, this time he was also swallowed by the grail... but in a much more literal sense. Huh. Gilgamesh sure does get eaten by the grail a lot. 2 out of 3 times is still a majority.

Berserker vs. Saber Alter is definitely one of the best fights of all Fate anime, possible of all anime in general. Definitely a god-tier battle. The third movie has imo THE best fight in Fate, and my personal favorite fight in all of anime (with Rengoku vs. Akaza being a close second).

You will get so many questions answered, and will have some more to make. Also, seeing you guys get scared at some points in this movie, made me realize how fitting it is to be watching Heaven's Feel in October. As a side note, please consider watching Fate Grand Order or Apocrypha if you want more of Fate, or if you want to continue with more Ufotable, you could watch The Garden of Sinners, multiple movies that take please in the same universe as Fate, but they are centered around other concepts and characters.

He didnt ask Shirou to kill her because he wanted to stop the shadow, he wanted him to TRY and kill her, because he thought that the man she loved trying to kill her would be the thing that pushed her over the edge. Tell Lupa Illya is 18 years old lol but i don't think that scene meant anything between them two. It was more like a sister brother jump thing. Also, I think y'all were so focused on trying to predict something based on fears, that you didn't realize that when Illya was listening in, she got to hear that Kiritsugu was always leaving out to try and see her. He just continued to get turned away. That's what they were talking about. Illya hated her father because she thought he abandoned her but that was never the case.

The translation got the Archer's line backwards. When he said that there's no future for Emiya he meant the path of trying to save everyone, but ultimately becoming a sociopath who just saves some and sacrifices others (UBW Archer path). This is why Archer doesn't try to kill Shirou in this route, but helps him instead. This is kindof the moral of the story - to not try to be an embodiment of justice, because it's impossible to begin with, just be human and care for your loved ones, because that's what you actually can do. Also Shirou and Sakura match is both poetic and twisted in that one has a savior complex from childhood trauma and the other is a victim who needed saving the most.

i think the way you guys interpreted sakura running away was fair. The main reason though is because she doesn't want to be the one who breaks Shirou's dream of being a hero of justice. Essentially, what Shirou meant by "are you betraying him" is the betrayal of his ideals all so he can protect Sakura.

Rin/UBW is probably the healthiest route for Shirou and the best love interest but the Sakura/HF route is way more fun to watch cuz of how chaotic it is. It’s pretty toxic actually how co-dependent the relationship is even to the point where Shirou’s willing to betray Kiritsugu’s ideals of killing a few to save many. It’s unhealthy compared to UBW where Rin and Shirou were more on equal footing, but Rin also didn’t have the same baggage and BS Sakura had to deal with as well.

That scene where Illya and Shirou are talking in the park was supposed to be the beginning of the fourth and final route with Illya as the star. But Illya doesn't need a route because everybody already loves her, so it got cut from the game and the important stuff just got merged into Heaven's Feel. Then Illya got a four season long anime and a 7.99 alarm app, so one can only question if they chose the right heroine to cut.

That candy scene really threw me and my friends off guard when we watched it on cinemas during it’s limited screening. Really worth it having the experience watching it on theatre and I like it that you like this route as well. Watched the entire trilogy on theatre and for the last film, they screened a marathon here in NZ where we watched the whole trilogy for one ticket showing with breaks in the middle of each film.

There not at all, UBW Shirou is not Archer in HW. Whole point of UBW is that Shirou despite knowing his Ideals are farce, He won't shy away from it anyway and Rin will be there to support him so he doesn't follow the exact path that Archer did because Archer never came to love himself at all. UBW Shirou was exactly like this and Rin will be there to help him start loving himself at sametime still follow the Ideals.

Thanks for the info, should be an interesting read. Tho i don't agree with it being a deconstruction, it's a conclusion to a branching, morally ambiguous story that is supposed to align with the choices made by the character/player, from each one you most certainly can conclude a lesson. So to me, at least, HF is the most "human" path, for better or worse.

Deconstruction might be too generous a descriptor, but I would still argue Heaven's Feel is still antithetical to "moral of the stories." With regard to HF as the most "human path," I think you'll find quite a bit of agreement there; and it seems to be the reason why so many enjoy this route (other than Sakura, of course). Admittedly, I don't particularly like the path (I won't get into that here, as it'll involve a comment that could be construed as a spoiler), but it was definitely fun.

Al though Heavens Feel is Gil’s worst route out of the main trilogy, I always get a kick of how he casually refuses to touch the ground when the shadow takes his leg. “Did you just attempt to make me kneel?!” Classic. Also, the Visual Novel mentions that Gilgamesh was actually about to tear Sakura apart from the inside out which is why the shadow had to digest him so quickly.

I'mma have to tell y'all to watch how you explain timeline sensitive things like this because that ends up confusing people and it's irrelevant for the most part due to the fact that Fate is a multiverse franchise so don't over complicate it trying to say this Emiya was from this timeline of this anime and is different from this Emiya who was this Shirou from this timeline in this anime and what not. It ultimately does not matter because it's a multiverse. You have no idea who came from what.

A little clarification on Sakura's mindset, and Shirou killing her. She commanded Rider not to stop Shirou if he tried to kill her, as she probably would think something like "that's for the best". She didn't hold any malice against him for attempting, and she's probably sad and happy that he didn't, and that he ultimately loves her. She had decided that, if she's going to live, she's going to live on her own terms, and stop this madness from continuing by facing her pain and trauma head-on, go back to that house she was abused in, and take down Zouken herself. But then, what happened, happed, Shinji is, was always, and thankfully will no longer live to be more of a scumbag. Unfortunately, that was pretty much the last bit of horror the grail needed to corrupt her entirely. The truly fucked up part, she was totally going to just let it happen, like it had always happened, but the moment he threatened her relationship with Shirou, THAT was what cracked her. She cannot allow that last little bit of love and happiness to be taken away from her. It's all she has left.

I'm on and off about them reacting to Babylonia. It'd be mandatory to watch the FGO movie because that's the foundation of the entire over arching plot ( even though Babylonia can be watched on its own, it has scenes they'd be so lost about because they didn't see specific characters from the FGO game that didn't get its own anime ). If they do go more into the Fate'verse, I would hope someone would give a proper explanation ( with minimal spoilers maybe ) for Roshi to understand so that he can explain to Lupa and Sheera otherwise all of them are gonna make clowny-assumptions that don't apply when it comes to Fate/Grand Order.

One thing to point out about the whole "please don't take my memories" scene. It's not the shadow stealing them. Sakura was talking about Rin. Basically Sakura saw that whole high jump thing and it was a special moment to her, but then hearing that Rin had the same experience at the same time with the same person, it made it so "that memory was no longer hers alone," which was something she never wanted to happen.

Netflix must have region locked the Fate/Stay Night: Heaven's Feel trilogy in the United States, because I don't see them listed. I was fine with illegally pirating and downloading anime when I was younger, but now that I'm an adult, I refuse to do that. I've been waiting and waiting to watch these films legally without having to pay extra, but I have no idea when a legal streaming option in my region will be available. Oh also ik you guys were freaking out about Sakura possibly eating Fuji-nee throughout that whole scene, which was great lol. But an important takeaway from that scene is what Fuji-nee was talking about, how Kiritsugu would constantly be going oversees until he could no longer move his body, and how he never got to see who he wanted to see. He was trying to see Illya that whole time, but if you remember from Zero, the Einzberns never let him see her again. What's most important about that conversation though is that Illya was listening in on the conversation, so now she knows that Kiritsugu didn't actually abandon her.

It's actually likely that Madoka was inspired by Heaven's Feel, if indirectly. The writer of Madoka (Urobuchi) was also the writer of the Fate/Zero book, which he asked to write after talking with Nasu the writer of Fate. Urobuchi was having big writer's block so he wanted to write a story in an existing world and was a huge fan of Fate. The dark magical style of MM is almost certainly inspired by Sakura in HF (though it's not like she's the first either - just has a direct connection with Urobuchi)

Heracles def cracked but its also because Illya is a powerful master, hence his stats are so high. If Saber also was supplied by someone of Illya's caliber, then she would be just as powerful if not more. This here basically shows Saber at her max power. Able to cleave away his lives and counterattack with ease. With Shirou, she barely can keep up with Heracles

also this is what archer meant when he told him in movie 1 if he goes down this path and continues to believe in his convictions ( the same ones as kiritsugu as in saving the many sacrifice the one ) he would have to kill sakura. The timelines are all existing at the same time so archer as a guardian knows all of them what you saw in all those flashbacks is what he ended up doing in his timeline following his ideals and killing her.

You are right, and also Kiritsugu mentions that he kept going back but the Barrier around the Castle never let him inside since he did not "return with the grail" so he never got to see Ilya. Ilya felt betrayed since she didn't know that and the Grail came to her in the form of her mother to lie and poisoned her against her Dad and to try to corrupt her... sad stuff all around.

The reason why Illya acts differently here vs other routes is because of 2 things: 1) she saw Shirou save Saber and take a hit from Berserker. 2) She then confirmed that Shirou is acting to protect his loved one (Sakura), rather than choosing to become a hero/doing what's in the best interest for the world. With these 2 things, she understands that Shirou is not going down the same path as Kiritsugu (which is not the case in the other routes), hence why she sides with Shirou in this route. All she wanted was for her parents to choose her instead of the world.

Also, there's 2 significant things that you guys missed, partly due to the lacking adaptation, partly because you were too busy making stupid jokes. The scene where Fuji-nee talks to Sakura is not a "omg she's going to eat her!" scene. It's actually an Illya development. She learns from Fuji-nee that Kiritsugu actually tried to get Illya back several times throughout the rest of his lives. He constantly goes overseas even after settling in Japan, trying to get his daughter back, but was never able to due to Acht. The other one is Shirou's conflict. You were saying he should just kill Sakura, but he loves Sakura, so much so that he would rather abandon his ideal to be the hero of justice. SSakura knows this and and understands that being around her would just make Shirou suffer, hence why she left the house. She was awake and was ready to let Shirou kill her if he made that choice. Her decision is therefore not one made because she is disappointed in Shirou for trying to kill her. This is all very clear in the source material/VN, but the adaptation unfortunately cut out a lot of important details

tbh, It's not that difficult to understand without knowing the source material. They just need to focus more on detail. These movies are carefully made and has many hints which can help with guessing what's actually happening. They really need to rewatch these movies when they got time to do so. It's impossible to get all hints in first watch.
