Gilgamesh is unstoppable

Chef MellowD

It’s hilarious when roshi’s trying to download what sheera’s saying

Alex cleveland

YES a triple drop. I miss these

Robert James Pottage

Gilgamesh sees Kirei as a plaything. He's been enjoying twisting him and leading him down his path, but that's about it. Waver, however, he respects. Rider was the one heroic spirit in the war that Gilgamesh respected; and Waver treating Rider as a King rather than servant and remaining loyal and brave earned him Gilgamesh's respect as well.

Leaky Peach

One of my favorite parts of this show is the end of Waver's character arc (though, Waver is easily my favorite character). Even without the grail, he earned the respect of both Iskandar and Gilgamesh.

Viela Guay

Everytime I see the Enkidu reference Gil makes all I can think of is that one AaronHeadbutt meme

kai

gilgamesh is so damn op that sword he used EA could literally destroy the world if he wanted to

Gabby Boakye-yiadom

"I have only had one friend and shall be the only one." Roshi: "Myself." The fandom: whimpers.

Gabby Boakye-yiadom

Especially consider Gilgamesh's contempt for the humans of the era when speaking to Tokiomi further shows how impressed he was to give a genuine compliment to Waver's resolve.

auxag

Your love for Waver and his dedication to Iskandar continues in the anime Lord El-Melloi II Case Files: Rail Zeppelin Grace Note if you wish for more.

Most modern adaptions like to portray Lancelot as a calm voice of reason, but early stories with him liked to portray him going crazy for some reason. I think he went insane like four different times, so they had to keep taking him to the Lady of the Lake to fix him. One time he ran around in the woods naked living like a raccoon for a year. Dude was, by far, the least mentally stable of the knights.

Oui Oui

Fun fact about Lancelot and Arthur, Lancelot slept with Arthur’s wife and Arthur just forgave him like it was nothing. Which could be one of the reasons he went insane because he couldn’t forgive himself for doing that to his friend

Shin splits

Also I think just because Arthur never punished him for his affair with quinivere. He felt tremendous amount guilt that could have been relieved if he was punished instead of pardoned.

Ris

I lowkey kinda hope they watch the fgo babylonia anime so they can see a version of gilgamesh that isn't a complete asshole.

Yanpo

Title of this episode should be changed to "Gilgamesh stopped a mass murderer."

ApplePieOG

If you guys are interested in Gilgamesh's backstory more, I really suggest you watch the Fate Grand Order Movie and the Fate Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front Babylonia series too after the HEaven's feel movies.

Reign

fate becomes way more interesting when you actually learn how the classes and abilities they all have really work. Gil is half god half man so realistically no servant who isn't a demigod or higher themselves can even harm him without a special ability designed to kill gods. Hard to say if you could consider Gil the strongest Servant overall but he's up there with quite a few other Demi-god to almost literally full blown god servants that exist. Just to top it all off to understand how OP Gil is tho He never actually fired off Ea just the act of it charging up was enough to completely destroy riders reality marble lol. If you wanna see how badass gil can be when he's not a dick then you guy 100% have to watch Fate Grand Order at some point to see a different Side of gil

itshusain_

its quantity(gilgamesh) vs quality(saber).

2021-07-09 03:14:25 Clayboi mentioned, WITNESSED! But rly, there was legit no chance for Iskandar to win against Gilgamesh, who is LITERALLY 2/3 deity, bloodline wise (he was literally CREATED by the gods to Govern the Lower World from the get-go, which is why he's so fucking OP; I say created, but it's more base-level thing in a sense. I think his mom was a god, while his father was a deified demi-god originally, as far as bloodlines of his parentage goes. Hence 2/3 god cuz god + demi-god = 2/3 deity), and those Chains were practically unbreakable as they were gained from his besto furiendo, Enkidu, who was created by the said same gods after Gilgamesh went kinda wild and started to actually like the people he was to govern, as a form of tailor-made jailor, armed w/ divine-grade Chains to restrain Gilgamesh & bring him to Heaven to be Judged. Of course things got fucked up this 2nd time as well, since they became best friends over time.

It's not gay if it's clay (also since the clay is formed after the form of the first priestess of Ishtar (as she's among other things, Goddess of Sex, all of her priestesses would also double as prostitutes, basically. Mind you they would be really high-tier ones, vs some random street thots, but essentially the same thing rly) that Enkidu banged for 1 week straight after being sent to the Lower World to apprehend Gilgamesh for not doing his job per se)

ElasticMemories

Nah they're only doing Zero, Staynight, and Heaven's Feel Besides, Grand Order is still too messy with all the missing chapters

Yoruka

Fun fact is that there exists another anime called, Lord El-Melloi II's Case Files {Rail Zeppelin} Grace note, that is a sort of sequel from Waver's perspective as an adult after the Holy Grail War. It was animated by the studio named Troyca which was started by the orginal director of Fate Zero, Ei Aoki. It is personally one of my favorite series as part of the fate universe.

BZD

Sayonara, Broskander.

BZD

By the way, when Zouken said the girl, Sakura, was consumed by worms, he meant that in the same way that Kariya was. Except since she wasn’t a rush job she isn’t as messed up physically. So she is still alive.

BZD

It doesn’t help that the chains are actually stronger against people with divinity.

BZD

Did they say they were doing those? And what about UBW? Because there is the fate stay night version (saber route). And then the fate stay night: Unlimited Blade Works (Rin Route).

Grayson

They said they’re watching UBW after and then the Heaven’s Feel movies

None None

Iskandar has Divinity because the historical version of him claimed he was the son of Zeus. His character profile even notes that it was enough to qualify him for the Divinity skill whether or not it's actually true.

None None

I'm not sure Lupa would survive all of the magical technobabble in that show.

Danny

One of the most interesting things about Gilgamesh is that while hes 99% of the time an asshole, when he actually respects someone, you know its serious. And yeah in a way he doesn't particularly respect Kirei or at the very least, he's only interested in him because of his twisted nature. However, in this show so far, the only people he has shown any respect to is Rider and Waver. Rider for his ambition and way of living while he respected Waver's loyalty towards Rider. That alone, imo, is a huge accomplishment for Waver especially. He joined the war hoping to earn others' acknowledgement by winning it. However, even when he lost, gaining the respect of Gilgamesh was probably worth 1000x more lol

Hakurei Oni

One of the small things that I love that goes unnoticed is Waver's tremendous character arc. If you remember from episode 1 his entire reason for joining the war was because he wanted people to respect him. And by the end he gets it from Gilgamesh of all people, someone who doesn't respect anyone else but Waver and Rider. Despite acting so cowardly at the start he ends up being the most loyal and brave master in the whole cast, everyone else out here scheming and betraying each other lol

Antonio Williams

He's not using Kirei for anything other than intrigue. When GIlgamesh said that he only had one friend he was referring to Kirei.

KimKaiRen

Goddammit you guys always make me laugh in emotional moments. Yeah this episode was sad to rewatch.

Dous Dous

Man, Rider said "Domain Expansion" and Gilgamesh was like "wrong anime bro"

Skebaba

WTF, that's dumb tbh. It literally makes Servants of legit divine origin devalued, does it not?

Skebaba

It's rly fucking gud tho, tbh. I rly like Lord El-Melloi II version of Waver. His VA is pretty gud and our d00d went thru puberty based on how nice he looks there, as 20-30 y/o or w/e he's canonically by that time.

AUO

YES! fate grand order babylonia gilgamesh is what made him my favourite character in fate!

Jolu

Divinity also has ranks and Iskander is rank C. Gilgamesh on the other hand would have an A+ rank but his hatred of gods reduces the rank to B.

AUO

iskandar was also my favourite servant in fate zero, best bro for real. also, since you find gil cool, if you want, you can also check out fate/grand order: babylonia, where is is kind of a protagonist and is cool

The servants in Fate aren't 100% accurate to how they were in history. The world often gives them extra shit based on their legend when they're summoned. A good example of that from a spin-off is Antonio Salieri. The guy was just an ordinary pianist. But since his main claim to fame is being the guy who murdered Mozart (which is false, since he and Mozart barely knew each other while they were alive), "random piano-playing dude" wouldn't represent his own legend well enough. So when he gets summoned as a servant, he gets a bonus skill that warps him into an inhuman monster obsessed with murder. If the system decides an embellishment is important to a hero (or villain)'s legend, it'll usually just give it to them in their servant form. It apparently thought claiming to be the son of Zeus was a big enough part of Alexander the Great's story that he should really get the divinity skill.

JsnSkg

"My heart is dancing" would've been a way better translation than just a boring-ass "I'm excited."

Sebastian Stróż

F/Z has some amazing episodes but banquet of kings and this one are by far my favorite since they showcase true nature of Iskandar and Gilgamesh, especially if you know what will happen in F/SN (please dont talk about any of that until it happens you all, thanks).

Skebaba

Wait then WTF kind of useless shit do you need for a Divinity lower than C? It can't surely be that easy to get C Divinity just from claiming to be a demi-god, can it?

None None

D rank is for people who are only very distantly related to gods, like Julius Ceaser (one of his ancestors was the son of Venus) or David (who had dormant divine blood that would eventually manifest in his descendant, Jesus). If you want to get lower than that, you have to get into the realm of people who had their divinity stripped away, but still technically get the skill because they're still considered inherently divine. By the way, C-rank is normally for saints or children of minor gods. Iskandar would probably be B or possibly even A if he were 100% the son of Zeus.

Dyno

Yea, the Gate of Babylon contains all the treasures of the world. But not all of them are readily on display. Up till now, Gilgamesh has been using essentially show pieces. EA is one of the things that are locked away behind a vault and key.

Donovan Breest

at least rider went out like a BOSS

A1_MiLFshAkE

IDK if they would watch that knowing you'd need to play the game to understand the premise.

Ris

They could probably get by watching the Fgo movie special thing but yeah it would be pretty confusing since babylonia is near the end of the first story of fgo

A1_MiLFshAkE

It was kinda hard to watch after like 5 episodes ended up dropping it

Corey Pearson

They never said the girl was dead. They just said consumed by bugs, doesn't mean she died.

KevMath

Everything Gilgamesh says is cool, even when he’s going around calling people mongrels

Rakudai

The big red grid he summoned in riders marble, is basically him pulling out something from his treasure vault. He has all weapons that have been made by mankind, so you can imagine how many he has stored up.

Emil

Don't know if you remember but back during the river battle with Caster, Tokiomi wanted Gilgamesh to use his sword of rupture/EA to one shot Caster's monster. He refused because he didn't deem Caster worthy enough to pull out EA but the fact that he uses it on Rider here just shows how much he respects him.

Jacota Lucian

Gilgamesh is not named the strongest Heroic Spirit that can ever be summoned for nothing, thats why at the beggining of the series Tokiomi said that they already won the war when they summoned gilgamesh. If you are wondering why gilgamesh hasnt used EA untill now is just like he said when he was suggested to use EA on caster's kraken,he only uses it on people he aknowledges their strenght . Altough gilgamesh could definetly have killed the kraken without using EA

BZD

What do you mean by “not named the strongest”, wouldn’t he be named the strongest?

Jigga Man

Gilgamesh is a King. In it's true meaning, he is a King.

Pro Spartan

I genuinely had tears when I first saw this episode. Broskander may not have won the grail, but he won everyone's hearts instead.

Bossman15blaze

For context the blade Gilgamesh used is the anti-universe sword EA created before the universe it’s self. It can destroy anything in existence and the chains are called enkidu the chains of heaven.

Fizzy

dude no that way too much and confusing

chou sion

I legit would not be suprise if gilgamesh pulled out excaliber 💀💀, bro is unrivaled when it comes to weapons, well shiro is close behind him with his copy skill

Kyle Drayton

wow...you couldn't have been more wrong on what that sword actually does, I guess that's what happens when you base your "info" off of battle wiki and people who know nothing about fate

Diponmychip

then would you care to explain what it is then instead of complaining that someone else got it wrong but then not correct them.

Bossman15blaze

Broski the blade creates winds that can rip open space time and reality which is why it’s called universal and also everything else is 100% correct because it was made before Gil that’s why it’s his trump card. I have hours and hours of fate lore under my belt.
