Yeah, I'm definitely thinking Omni-Man is a villain. My pet theory is, the people from his planet aren't being helpful, they're conquerors who go to different planets in order to sort of claim their own fiefdom. I think that's why he's so aggressive at times about Mark's growing powers (since he's the only person who might be able to challenge him) and why he just starts giving orders to people like he's King of the World. This motherfucker IS King of the World, or so he thinks. The Guardians ALMOST had enough power to challenge him directly, too. So, I kinda wonder if he actually goes around and wipes heroes out periodically to keep any group from growing powerful enough to challenge him.

This is just a preliminary thought but in ep 1 they stated that omni-man's species sent people to observe / assist plants that are lesser. Rather than conquer them, it could be that the superhero planet earth was getting too strong for him to justify staying as its protector. Either his people would make him return or something to that effect, but to avoid this he would just weaken earth by wrecking the strongest heros.

Yeah. In the comics it’s a little different. He doesn’t come out as gay for a while in the books. In fact he’s closeted for a bunch of issues and does some things that I don’t know if they’re gonna try to fit in so I don’t want to spoil any story points. Whenever Kirkman does a TV adaptation of his comics, he likes to go back and change certain things that he wish he would’ve thought of back when he was writing the stuff 10+ years ago. I don’t mind it because it’s not an exact carbon copy.
