woah, didnt expect the Rolo situation to hit like that

i don't even feel bad for lelouch at this point. he's been sloppy, egotistical, hypocritical, and had no regard for the lives of anyone except his loved ones since the beginning and now it's come to bite him back in the ass.

George-Calin Petruța

I mean, you can say that, but you have to take in consideration 2 things: First, he is still very young, of course he makes mistakes and does unreasonable things. Second, aren't we all the same? Don't we all want those close to us to be okay and to help them? Of course, that doesn't mean I don't agree that he acted selfish during the show, but when put with your back against the wall, you don't really have that much of a choice.

I feel like anyone who gets upset at the black knights for turning on zero here is just crazy, I love him as a character but there is no way any of yall would stay on his side after being shown literally pages upon pages of evidence and a recording. Also if that evidence shows that he could have brainwashed me and any of my friends and I would have no way of knowing, that paranoia would send almost anyone over the edge when all the proof is there and things like enemies turning traitor for no reason. It is even crazier cuz as the audience WE KNOW it all is true, so makes even less sense to me. I do still wish it had worked out differently but it is really all lelouchs fault at the end of the day, or we can blame table-chan or Schnozer lol

lyssa

Yeahhhhh the black knights believed that a little too easily

Kurumi

It is what it is

Nah I still don’t fuck with Rolo. I get it, but the way he killed Shirley in cold blood is legit one of the slimiest things I think a character does in this show. Maximum pettiness

Deshawn Smith

Great episode. Now, waiting for Reeeeeeeee Zeero

Frenzy X

ah the second episode I was waiting for

Elijah Roberts

There's no turning back after this episode. 😈

Leaky Peach

I mean, I know what you mean. But I also can't be too angry against Rolo since it's clearly due to his insecurities and his upbringing as an assassin that led him to that knee jerk reaction of killing Shirley. Does it excuse it? Fuck no! Do I feel bad for the unfair hand life dealt him to where he developed a codependent relationship with Lelouch? Absolutely, yes! So his death hits pretty dang hard after being around for this long.

I do love how like 90% of the time Charles feels like he is just in his own damn show talking about some apocalypse bullshit while everyone else is in war drama

Viela Guay

I mean the man literally just killed anything that was slightly inconvenience to him, even other agents. Man's was simply too efficient for his own good

Gabby Boakye-yiadom

I did feel bad for Rolo in this moment but I just can't forgive him for Shirley

kai

“Table fucker” Pleaseee😭

Mynamesjuan

Fuck Rolo. He killed the second best waifu 😭

Danny

The boy was trained as an assassin with no family. He knew he was being used and yet made himself as useful as he could. He knew that if nunnally returns, Lelouch would toss him aside. Yet despite knowing all that, he continued to stay by his side as long as possible, even sacrificing himself in the end. How could anyone say Rolo's actions were not understandable and tragic. The dude literally had nothing to live for until Lelouch came along and even then, he was still being used.

Gabby Boakye-yiadom

Although it sucks how quickly the Black Knights turned on Lelouch, you can't say this wasn't bound to happen eventually. To anyone learning for the first time Lelouch's actions behind the scenes would look pretty inhumane and his Geass would be an automatic red flag to question your allegiance. Even Kallen felt distrustful of Lelouch after learning the first time and needed a year to think on it to still want to bet on him as their best chance at the time. In the end Schniezal just came at the right time to disrupt everything and force everyone to make a decision at that exact moment of confusion.

kai

I kind of teared up with Rolo I mean yeah he was trying to kill Nunnally but he just wanted Lelouch’s affection and Lelouch was playing him so

Anonymous

Rewatching this, I can see more why the Black Knights would be so distrustful. Imagine if your boss had secretly been keeping mind control powers for you. How would you ever know if you've been following them of your own volition?

haywood banks

I love Lelouch but he admitted to ordering the death of thousands of the people they were trying to protect and a bunch of their friends died in this campaign 2 or 3 from the Ohgis original crew and 3 from todoh's crew , as well as killing the man that Todoh had sworn to support, like Todoh was prepared to die after GEN Katase died, they had to turn on him after that or they'd have no honor

Jordan Odle

The reason why Black Knights were pissed was because of not knowing they had free will or not because now they would have to ask if a person from royalty didn't orchestrate this just to fuck with Japanese people. They would question if any of their victories were real or just some fucked up game they gave their lives for that they could never win. If someone can brainwash people to do whatever then everything is put in question. It is do you trust your enemy or the man who can make you do/believe whatever they want who also by the way was biological at a point your enemy. P.S. the whole thing with Euphy kinda was a nail on the coffin because whether that was intentional or not he did incite a genocide of their own people and covered it up to make him seem better you don't just let that go

Jose silva

cant wait for the next episode

Devin B

As much as Lelouch tried to deny Rolo and use him you can definitely see that he did care for him deep down cause just leaving the locket with him said a lot since Lelouch could've easily took it since it was a reminder of Nunnally. At this point I still don't fuck with him cause of how he did Shirley and how he was just adamant about killing Nunnally but he was clutch whenever Lelouch needed him like this moment and when Suzaku tried to catch Lelouch slipping with the Nunnally phone call.

Yeah they’ve been setting up the distrust for a long time. Especially considering they don’t know the parameters to his geass, he coulda been controlling them forever for all they know.

Rolo is just a tragic character. I didn't care for him at all but it's not his fault the world fucked him over.

saintvenom

Shit is so epic! It's been awhile since I've seen it. Music at the end gives me chills.

Final stretch :)

Runner Up

Why would you expect the Black Knights to follow Zero after learning of his Geass manipulation? If he only did it against enemies, then maybe they still would but it'd still be pretty inhumane. But they showed proof of him using it against allies. Even though it was an accident, which only we the viewers, and Lelouch, know, the rest of the Black Knights sees it as a method to rally forces against Britannia. Would they want to follow Britannia, who massacres their people, Zero, who massacres their people for political gain, or someone else? I think the answer is obvious in this case. Of course to the viewers it's different. We know Lelouch wanted to agree to the zone and help it out, but his Geass went out of control. The whole series of events is just unfortunate but it was bound to happen eventually.

Aw Rolo :( . The hate for him is valid bc he did some slimy shit. But I still like to imagine him, Lelouch, and Nunally could've just lived in peace as siblings in another timeline. That OST hits btw

Misato-San!

pretty easy to understand why they turned against zero after learning what he was responsible for. They could have been allies with the other japanese rebels yet lelouch geass'd them into suicide just as a move. Euphy...

Coran

Just saying but it’s not pronounced like Britahnian, it’s just like Britannian.

honestly i loved rolo idcccc i was really sad to see him go

Problem is, they trusted the enemy too easily. Even with the so-called proof, trusting the enemy is dangerous.

Ace The FireDragon

Table-chan created that weapon to kill Zero, but didnt realize that what she created had splash damage.

Random Guy

I feel like it would have ended differently if Lelouch didn't keep on playing the bad guy card all the time.
