I for some reason hadn't made the connection until a subsequent watch through, but I think you're correct. When Ging tells Gon about Kite never rolling 3 unless he's absolutely adamant about not dying, the way it's phrased seems like it would set up a residual nen which allowed the consciousness to stay intact.

The end of the Gon and Killua journey 😭 They were the best anime duo to me.

Yeah the manga will be focusing on our other 2 main characters

Kite's response to the koala dude might've seemed harsh but he basically gave the koala a reason to keep living. He thought he was a lost cause because after being reincarnated, he still ended up making the wrong choices in life. But Kite gave him a reason to atone for the wrong he did and threatened to kill him if he slipped up on changing his ways

The theory is that Pitou fed the Queen Kite's brain/innards and then used Doctor Blythe to put his body together as a training doll. So he was able to live a second time as a Chimera Ant because of that (and possibly his Crazy Slots insured it?).

In regards to how crazy slots plays a role in the whole ordeal, I think the weapon his crazy slots gave him is just really powerful and that's what Ging meant when he said that "there's a specific number that his crazy slots won't bring up unless he's adamant about not dying". I think Ging was under the impression that Kite was still alive because of the specific crazy slot number rather than because he was reborn as a Chimera Ant, probably because Ging hadn't known about people being reborn as Chimera Ants in the first place. That's my theory at least for what happened in regards to what Ging said to Gon about Kite's crazy slots in the last episode.

It could also be that "that number" is literally a nen reincarnation power, and it's a complete coincidence he got reincarnated as a Chimera Ant, or if it is reincarnation, it's to the nearest newborn or something like that and that probably would have been a Chimera.

ahhh the feels again :'(

I dont have a concrete theory about Kite reincarnating into a chimera ant but my guess is that it has something to do with residual nen after death.

ok

but im gonna be honest im sure we will get back to see gon and killua ... no?
