Gotoh vs. Hisoka is unironically one of my favourite fights in the series, because it shows why fighting Hisoka is so terrifying. Namely, whether listening to him talk is a good idea. Hisoka will drop genuinely useful info for you to make the fight more challenging, but then, trying to decipher Hisoka's riddle about the coins was what got Gotoh killed. "If he's admitting how many coins he took from me, he must be planning to send more than that number back at me" is the thinking man's answer, but unfortunately, the coins were a distraction the whole time. So, do you listen to Hisoka and try to decide what is good and valuable info, and what is a trap? Or do you shut yourself off and fight one of the most naturally talented nen-users like you would anyone else? Tough call, I think. I fucking love this fight.

It is one of the best fights, cause depending on the location, Gotoh as a clear advantage in the fight. In an open area, the fight goes his way. But seeing how cunning Gotoh is, I like to think he gave him that information, and when he realized he used it to gain the advantage, he then went to plan B

Yeah, that's a solid read. Hisoka's general lack of showing concern makes you think he had it all planned from the start, but I really think Gotoh took him by surprise. Also, I really like how we're both just "Hrrrrng!" over this couple minutes long fight lol.
