Another wonderful highlight in this episode. More emphasis on how bending isn’t magic, it’s a martial art with mystical, spiritual and philosophical attributes. The emphasis on how earth benders need to wait for the right time to strike. Later they talk about how water benders flow from move to move. Very beautiful and well thought out

Everyone has a favorite avatar character. Mine has always been Ty lee. Her fighting style is so clean and smooth; its like getting your ass kicked by the girl next door lol. The combat only gets better from here.

Fun fact not mentioned in the show. TyLee is a descendent of the airnomads. Notice her eyes are the same as Aangs and they move the same too. Also she’s a very spiritual person.

Just being descended from a certain nation doesn't mean you can bend that element (see Sokka); plus, as John said, she has many of the features attributed to the air nomads. However it's just a fan theory, as far as I know.

I mean, I assume that there would be some lineages everywhere in the world w/ ancestry from all the 4 people, over time. I'm 99% sure that not all people from X culture would conform to the same norms. People sometimes fall in love randomly, by chance. There's a reason Love At First Sight as a trope exists, as there's some truth to it.

To be fair the concept of "blue fire" is deep in japanese folk lore as "kitsunebi" or "fox-fire" it is often illustrated as blue in historical Japanese art.
