Oh I've already seen the series multiple times, just sucks when one of them talks over plot details. It's a minor gripe but still irks me if they might miss key details. Everyone has been pretty perceptive so far though with details.

Honesty the teacher isn’t so bad. I think we gotta remember that in the Avatar world, gender roles are a big thing if you look at all the nations mostly and only men fight. So I get why their customs are like that it’s old school way of thinking that’s relatable to early USA days or just the world in general

One thing I want to point out is Katara and Sokka's grandma isn't a waterbender, so she didn't leave because they don't allow girls to learn waterbending. Though, I do believe she left because of the fact that there was a differences in the way guys and girls are treated including more than just waterbending.

its a culture thing. being engaged at a young age doesnt mean jack shit. two kids could be engaged pre birth if their families agreed to it. its only fucked if they force the kids to be together. but sometimes the kids fall in love because of that engagement between them. being engaged shouldnt be frown upon but the final say should be with the kids

Sooooo if that's a betrothal necklace, does that mean aang's proposed twice? Once with the one he made during the Fortuneteller episode and then again in the Bato of the Water Tribe with the pre-made one? XD Also, those cuts and bruises on Zuko's face are more from the fall than the explosion. He had a sphere of his own fire to protect him from the blaze but he had a whole lot of deck standing in between him and water. Even if he avoided the deck of the boat thanks to the blast throwing him that far, hel-lo falling debris.
