I like that aang is actually voiced by someone who was a child. In later seasons you can hear a little voice change. Usually they just get a woman to play boys.

If you guys watch all the books for this series. The character development and world building gets very deep. Also, i remember this was my most repeated episode of avatar because of the line "YOU WANT TO STOP BREATHING" lol

I never really blamed Aang’s age for this episode. I felt it had more to do with his background and experiences. As a monk Aang’s fighting style is very defensive, and he was taught to value all life growing up. So even though Aang is a master Air bender he never received any formal “serious” offensive training, such as lethal or killing blows, like you would with the other elements. So he’s never had to worry about the dangers of his bending before. Combine that with how easy it was for him to pick up water bending and the time constraints I can understand why Aang was so impatient and wasn’t really paying attention to the dangers involved

Taking him to the top of the mountain to practice his breathing is like Goku going into the gravity chamber. Could he train on just the regular Earth? Yeah, but it's more of a challenge to breathe at a higher altitude. I wonder how long it took Jeong Jeong to get to the top of the mountain when he first started his firebending training. Real life, you gotta take it slow to avoid passing out.
