The pacing is really annoying as well considering the manga is fast paced. Like, it's literally MADE to be fast paced lol, but the anime slowed it down

The boy made manga that shouko's mother read as a child, so he is old. The clone he made does not age which is why it looks young. The artifact did not affect his age, he was already older.
