Someone clarify for me, INVINCIBLE will be NEXT week? I know episode 5 dropped last night, that's why I'm asking.

Danger Tomato

Are we getting 8 episodes of worst of evil today?

Jamaal Ellison

Yo I don't remember Guillermo Del Toro being in this episode!!!

Metweet .c

It's not crazy to not have curtains at the back garden of the house. The house had curtains at the entrance. Plus the sun hits the pool but adds shade to the window. Curtains just cover up the garden that has obviously been design heavily with landscaping

Jamaal Ellison

It's only now really hitting me during this second rewatch of the series how much Barry reminds me of Walter White. Listening to his conversation with Hank just now I'm amazed at how far gone Barry is he's trapped! Like I think he's Irredeemable at this point, I mean just looking at how much he'd lie, mistreat, and manipulate Hank. Hank gives me Jessie Pinkman vibes.

Metweet .c

You guys really don't know Rain man or recognised guillermo del toro huh? Crazy

HIM

Thank you! I read the schedule update, but didn't know Invincible came back yesterday.

The scene where the acting class calls Sally's reproduction of Gene's "method" abuse really feels like another scene of Bill Hader criticizing Hollywood norms. Similar to the central theme of Whiplash, there is a long lasting idea in Hollywood that suffering for the art produces better performances. People are often willing to forgive any amount of poor conditions or abuse from the director/producers towards the actors or other workers on set, as long as it produces the greatest final product. Stanley Kubrick is probably the most well known example of this; by all accounts, he was an absolute nightmare to work with, both in terms of on-set conditions and the unrelenting demands he put on his actors. Shelley Duvall, lead actress for The Shining, has gone on at length about the trauma she suffered on set and how the experience absolutely was not worth it for her. I think that Bill and the writers are touching on the idea that, yes, this method can produce amazing performances and you can pressure your actors into truly convincing or even real emotions, but that doesn't mean you should. Just because you got an amazing performance out of someone doesn't mean that it was worth it, and just because that method can work doesn't mean it's the best. The best actors can go in and out of the role like changing clothes, and the best directors can get someone in the headspace of their character through simple communication, without abuse. I think it's so interesting how, back in S1, we probably thought Gene was doing Sally a favor and being a good teacher, but here, more of us see it as wrong. The only thing that changed was the class reaction, which I think can also signal how much of our idea of what's acceptable in society is largely based off how other people react around us.

G A H I

How did they even get Guillermo de Toro to agree to do this? So random 😂😂

PJ Rivera

Shoutout Horror legend Guillermo del toro for most random guest cameo in a show

Mack

The scene where the podcast assassins came to get Barry is one of my favorite scenes of this season. It’s so hilarious and also shows how much of a beast Barry was. He recognized what was happening quickly and hit dude in the ceiling precisely.

Oni Legend

Bro i swear Sally has like….Narcissist’s Haki instead of Conqueror’s when she turns the fuck up on people. She was talkin CRAZY to home girl this episode just like when she yelled at Natalie in the elevator, her agent in the apartment, and way back in season 2 when she had that rant to Barry about him getting a part

faded

Y’all will be really surprised by the next episodes, all i’m saying

Frederick

Sally was spitting bro. There are many actors/actresses today that can’t act most just get gigs because they look beautiful

faded

German is my first language and yeah he actually spoke German but with a heavy American accent. What did Jim do to this man lmao?

Jaelyn Mcgee

yeah I got so stoked when I saw him the first time I watched it and Fred Armisen plays one of the assassins.

Kami_Psy

Yea Barry is going down the deep end this season lol. I don't agree with Barry only doing things for himself though because most of the show is him doing things for other people (mainly Fuches and Sally) with him gaining pretty much nothing for it.

rickie woodson

how do you not recognize rain main.......great film

max

How yall not fuck with Jim what he do lmao

Toj

Damn Roshi’s sense of observation is scary!! I didn’t catch that the first time but going back @20:12 it looks like Sally looks over to the right of that direction of where he’s sitting.. I think she noticed him !

zanderbander

I'm surprised they got Guillermo Del Toro in this

KingdorismHD

Bill Hader actually has said that a lot of people didnt noticed that small detail he decided to put in for the viewers during an interview

Gwyn

Cousineu's agent is the best part of this episode. Man is hilarious.

Marquist Simms

You guys don’t know who Guillermo del toro is ?

Godrick

El Toro, was Guillermo del toro

Godrick

that movie w/ Tom Cruise was Rainman

Danger Tomato

Lol yall don't know alot of white actors, time for some white people movies

GormleyPeach

I never noticed Pedro in the class! That's crazy detail, love it!

PJ Rivera

Apparently he was a big fan and when his schedule was clear he got in the show.

Esperance Adzem

Yes but he's paying fir the things he did for himself. Mainly killing Chris and Janice

lyssa

I’m finally caught up 😭 now do I wait for them or watch on my own 🤔

Samke Dladla

I mean maybe she's been seeing him so much that she didn't visually react to it when he showed up in class.

Anna Anthony

They really told Sally to become Joe Rogan lmao. I could see it honestly. Damn. I feel worse for Hank/Barry's relationship falling out vs him and Sally though

James Stephenson

Not Tom Cruise movie was Rain man and it is an Oscar winner y'all would love
