Hi everybody, I've done my best to show you how the Shepherds' compound looks in my head!!! I hope this helps you envision the layout of their headquarters better! Of course, when you live in the remains of a magical tower, things tend to shift around... but this is the most common way most Shepherds perceive the tower when they first get there! New floors also unlock the more recruits join, which can be an interesting architectural surprise... for now, though, many of the main characters and captains reside on the fourth floor!

I realize not everything in the blueprints may make total sense to people who aren't me, so feel free to ask any questions you might have! Where is Vivek? (Somewhere in the East Wing, though of course that often shifts to become the South Wing connected to the Warded Atrium). What is The Funnel? It's a walled courtyard that forces visitors to go through the southern (main) entrance to be inspected and scanned by the wards inside. Shepherd officers have clearance to use any entrance, but visitors and non-Shepherds have to come through the south!

And which room does your MC take on the fourth floor? I like how the layout of the floor sort of shows certain people's personalities... of course Riel and Lavinet got the biggest rooms! 😂

Thanks for checking this out, and I hope you enjoy!

Hello Lena! You said the outside appearance doesn't change, is it like a tardis (bigger inside than outside) or is it an illusion that keeps the same image while the tower grows? Also this place this way bigger than I imagine, kinda want to play hide and seek, but is there a way to find someone easily or summon them? Like an intercom, phone, fantasy walkie talkie?

Hi turquoise, great questions! The tower is pretty much like a TARDIS (bigger inside than outside)--similar to how the Mages of the Veiled Circle basically stuffed all their belongings into a pocket dimension, Archmage Tangriel figured out how to apply that to a whole building! There is *sort of* an intercom system in that there are various statues, suits or armor, and fixtures around the building (like Vivek) who are connected by the spirits inhabiting them in a kind of spirit-network. You can ask Vivek, "hey, do you know where Blade is?" and he can instantaneously ask the other spirits in other parts of the building if they see Blade. If yes, some random statue may bleat "HEY COMMANDER MC IS LOOKING FOR YOU IN THE WEST WING" or vice-versa. However, this doesn't work for outside the building or if the Shepherd in question is out of view of any spirits/statues, so it's a very finicky system! There is a dedicated division of the Solar Corps whose sole jobs are to run around delivering messages throughout the building LOL!
