Updating Patreon Page (Patreon)

Hello everyone,

Patreon has changed in some significant ways in how it displays content for patron and non-patron users since the start of 2020. 

For that reason, I'll be updating the page in the next few days to adapt to the changes they made. I'll also use this opportunity to change some tiers and goals.

Important change : Vice-Admiral (20$)

I'll remove the Vice-Admiral tier, it's almost not used compared to the other tiers. I know some of you have been in this tier for a while and I can't thank you enough for it but I think removing this tier is for the best.

So what happens if you're a Vice-Admiral this month? 

Nothing. It will be the same as usual. But I'll remove the tier and the last day of March and it won't be possible to keep the tier rank in April. The Captain and Admiral tiers remain completely unchanged and will be available to be used by former Vice-Admirals.

Important change : Deckhand (1$)

I will remove the limit of 150 patrons for this tier, I've had quite a lot of requests to do that. 

Unfortunately, it has a big downside, I will have to remove the "All Patrons" release happening on the 15th of each month and the Deckhand tier will have to wait for the public release to have access to the new episode. 

On the plus side, all patrons will be granted a Discord invite.

Benefits:

Those changes will allow me to have more time at the start of the month as it removes 2 releases. I'll be able to start working on the next episode faster, nothing crazy but every hour is good to take. ;)

They will also make the tier system easier to understand and simpler.

Others change:

As said above, Discord access will be available to all Patrons and in the process, I will remove some channels and only keep two "Admirals" and "General.”

99.9% (not real numbers but you get the meaning) of Discord activity happens in the Admiral’s channel, I would love to see it changes in the future, that why I'll remove the tier-based channels. Hopefully, this will get some increased activity going in the non-Admiral part of the discord.

The goals will be updated to be earning-based goals instead of community-based goals. 

500 Patrons will be 4000$ : We'll put even more hours into the writing, more dialogues for each update.

I'm already working on the game in all of my free time. However I was able to add a second person to help me with the game a while back. You might have already seen him in discord. After reaching this goal, he will put more hours into the game fixing minor bugs and writing dialogue.
We're aiming for a more immersive gameplay by increasing dialogue variety.

1000 Patrons will be 8000$: We'll work full time on the game.

As some you might know (if you read everything carefully, eheh), I'm a freelancer in back-end web development. I'm only working on the game part-time, using my free time. Since I started the Patreon page I heavily cut some of my regular working hours to be able to focus more on the game and I'm not able to cut more unless going full time.

And to end this post on a less serious subject, I'll also be updating the graphic elements of the page (banner, screenshots,...) and rework the "Thank You" page for new Patron.
