Big fan of this one. I believe the story was that Dan Harmon was getting some criticism for only being good at comedy, so he wanted to write an episode that relied more on grounded drama... and I think it came out really well.

I never realized Tig Notaro was in this episode. She’s a fascinating comedian with a really harrowing true story about her entire life falling apart right in front of her eyes within the span of a month. It’s so unbelievably horrible that a documentary was made about. She’s fine now, though. Not really reaction material, but one of the greatest standup sets ever.
