Going to release it tomorrow unless there are some horrible bugs. Not a lot of changes, mainly just fixes. Trees receiving shadows are now optional and disabled by default, that should help with flicker (and I also tried to fix and improve shadow mapping, but just in case), also, found a neat trick to reduce that banding on trees with some dithering (comparison with 2x MSAA, and with 8x).

Also, added a replacement for photo mode app, with a few more helpful options:

Might be especially useful in replays, there it allows to adjust scene: change lighting (change time of day and spin sky to alter light angle), disable damages or dirt, hide driver, force headlights or brake lights on or off.

And if you want to speed up loading a bit, try a couple of new options in “New Behaviour” section, to cache generated grid and payloads of AI splines. As for the rain, still working on it, some previews should be ready soon.

Ilja, the bug that's been around for the last couple of weeks with the random crash and dialogue box saying 'Unexpected Error. Sorry for the inconvience. Reinstalling Custom Shaders Patch' is still with us.

Not sure about the dithering on the trees. I'd have to try it but usually I don't like it. Can it be disabled ? Reduced flicker sounds good !

Sure, in track adjustments, there is an option to disable dithering.

is the "- IMGUI apps won’t break mouse interacting with the rest of AC anymore" actually in the build? when im clicking into AC and then hit f1 edge opens this up "https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/917607/feature-not-included-help-not-supported-error-opening-help-windows"

Great!! I love the new FFB enhancement and the new Photomode too. Finally I can adjust certain factors and options before taking a screenshot. Although there is a problem. Turning lights on or off doesn't work for me. I have tested it with various cars and conditions. Stay safe you too

There was this bug, if you would have a single IMGUI app and then either close it or hide with Ctrl+H, mouse would no longer interact with rest of AC UI (the way it works, it checks if IMGUI needs mouse — for example, if it hovers over some of IMGUI control — and if so, stops it from propagating to the rest of AC; and when there are no IMGUI apps visible, whole thing stops, so before it wouldn’t change state to the one where it doesn’t need mouse anymore). Not sure about this bug with F1 though, that is something new, I think… Did it work with original AC?

Thank you! Maybe replay was paused? Because almost all lights have a tiny delay, some time needs to pass for them to switch, I didn’t think of a way to fix it yet.

Sorry Ilja. Only just seeing this due to timezone differences. I'll see if I can find the crash dumps, but I may not be able to identifty which sessions it happened on now. If it happens again, I'll go straight to the logs so I know I've got the right one and then send that to you.

what does the FFF or post-processing do? It feels very natural, less strong than Kuno's.

one more question, with lights.patch-v1.52 the FFB strength can't be adjusted while driving. Wanted or a bug?

New gyro, you mean? It uses more accurate formula for calculating those forces, added by Stereo. I’m very glad you like it!

Thanks if you could fix it. Can you coding something like that for other Sims. I've been driving my DD-Wheel for five years. No matter what I set, Assetto Corsa has never steered so naturally and well, much better than with Kunos Gyro. That's what I wanted as an independent program for other Sims. That would also sell well.

Very glad you like it! Unfortunately, at least for now, I have no idea how to do it for other sims. Hopefully I’ll be able to learn more later on.

the ffb strength can still not be set for every car. After uninstalling the shader patch you can do it again. In addition, the display in VR has been wrong since v0.153. The picture is totally shifted in the roof and engine camera
