Hi Everyone,

I haven't been feeling well this week. It could be covid, it could be something else. Either way, I've been feeling pretty lethargic.

A dictionary definition I found for the word lethargic is: "the quality or state of being lazy, sluggish, or indifferent"

Community Challenges are an opportunity to put what you've been learning to the test. There is no point in learning a new language if you never USE that language to communicate YOUR thoughts. Learning music theory is the same kind of concept, and creating music is usually the missing piece for people trying to understand how music works.

Sometimes a challenge involves using a specific technique or music theory concept, and sometimes it's more like this particular challenge: try to exhibit an emotion or feeling through music.

This weeks challenge is: Write something lethargic

Often, the key to getting something to sound lethargic is to get your arms and fingers to mimic how it feels to be lethargic. Lazily sliding from one note to the next, arriving to your notes late, playing behind the beat as if the drums have to pull you along - these are all ideas.

Explore, have fun, and try your hardest to write something with some lethargic elements to it. When you feel like you've got something - wether it's a VERY simple chord progression, a melody, or a full blown song, post it to the community forum.

Remember, not everything you write needs to be a complete song, not everything you write needs to be finished, and not everything you write needs to show people who you are. This is just practice. Have fun with it!

Dude this one is strange. And kind of hard. Gonna try to play something late, not in the beat. It's feel if I play sloppy would fit. And playing sloppy is with me! Hope you guys are getting better. Let's try this.
