Postscript

When we go visit temples or shrines, we often see Buddhist statues with one leg down or leaning forward. It’s often said that it’s a representation of their intent to save those who are suffering. It’s a very respected image.

But as for me…

I don’t know, I never felt that I’d be comfortable asking for their help, though saying that is super insensitive (lol).

When it comes to the girls in the Tiny series, they approach others with only interest and malice, not with the intent to help. And since that is in a way, pure, I believe this is how we can actually attain ”salvation”.

But on top of that, we’d also become their food, their playthings, their toys.

A true win-win!

Ahh, how comfortable would it be to receive their care without any shame!

In many cases, what matters most for those in need of help is being able to be of value to others. To be able to be of use for those girls. To be the reason why they smile. In that scenario, wouldn’t one be glad to be alive, even in such a warped state?

Your distorted heart, even if only slightly, will yearn for a distorted salvation.

Acknowledgements

This work took about 2 years to make.

From 2015 to 2017, I was thinking of a method that would allow me to release a new work every 6 months

From 2018 to 2019, I tried to sacrifice the number of pages in order to improve the quality of my art.

And finally, between 2020 and 2022, I stopped caring so much about balancing the number of pages and the quality of each frame just to “get something out the door”, instead I tried to have it all.

It’s thanks to all my supporters that such a selfish production became possible.

Of course, not being able to release a book for two years was very tough so I might do things differently for my next work. Either way, for as long as you’ll permit, I’ll continue moving forward, following my own heart instead of being swept away by the demands of trends.

To all my patrons and to those that purchased this book, I’m truly thankful for all the support you have always given me.
