I recently watched “Poor things!” the new movie by Lantimos, with Emma Stone, Willem Dafoe and Mark Ruffalo and I loved it!. You know maybe all the querelle about the missing nominee of Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie for Barbie… well, I think that “Poor Things” is how Barbie could have been if it didn‘t have that heavy brand on its shoulders: too much boundaries imposed by Mattel and by the main character of the movie, a doll for the little girls.

Emancipation and empowerment of women also through their bodies and sex is the main theme of “Poor Things!”, all in a sort of steam punk Victorian scenario. And yes, there is also a duck-dog, and not only that! I suggest you to watch this movie and also the previous by Lantimos, like “The Favorite” and “The Lobster”

like the other drawings from my sketchbook, here is the original version from it and here is the video of the coloring process: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/47crsh85tm2t4q91eeoh0/poorthings.mp4?rlkey=4pthv95zi7mkl434jpgtpwtdf&dl=0
