NOTE: Sorry this update came so much later, I was struggling with the fire demon's design instead of just going with the first thing that came into my head! I should have just posted this after the monthly report but I wanted to be able to check another thing off my monthly goals 😅 So that will be coming very soon!

You lift one of the armchairs and deposit it into the flickering arms of the fire demon. The goblin watches from beside you in anticipation.

The fire demon immediately roars with delight as it hungrily consumes the furniture.

The flames flare at first white hot, then slowly dim as the shadow of a form begins to appear. The firelight softens, the only remaining illumination in the hearth comes a few burning logs and scattered embers.

The shadow resolves itself into a horned figure with a long, swishing tail, at the end of which a tuft of reddish fur collects soot.

 The fire demon gazes at you and the goblin through two slitted pupils flickering brightly within her darky lidded eyes as she picks a splinter from between sharp teeth.

"Thank you for freeing me, kind strangersss, I am called Paier. I will help you find the treasures you seek to fulfill my end of our bargain. Do not touch the chest against the wall, it is only a cleverly disguised trap."

" The wizard’s bedroom and a way out of the tower lies beyond those doors, though you can only enter sssafety by turning both knobs inward at the sssame time.”

The demon coughs a small cloud of smoke and you see her eyes drift upward through the haze, hatred flickering in them as she gazes through the ceiling.

“I have yet unfinished business to discusss with the wizard. There is more treasure and danger in the rooms above. You may follow me if you wishhh, but I cannot promisse your sssafety.”
