Sadly, Gene Roddenberry did pass away during production of this film. R.I.P. Gene Roddenberry, DeForest Kelley, James Doohan, Leonard Nimoy, and Nichelle Nicholes. Christopher Plummer (Chang) and David Warner (Gorkon) reprised their roles for the "Star Trek: Klingon Academy" video game and includes a back story to what lead up to this assassination. David Warner also returned for an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation as a Cardassian (Gul Madred) in the episode "Chain Of Command." Sadly, he passed away in July. As with everyone else's, I do have my recommendations to which TNG episodes to watch, but the three I'm sure everyone is recommending are "Q-Who" and "The Best of Both Worlds" part 1 and 2. The pilot episode, "Encounter At Farpoint" would be your introduction to the new cast. "Sins of the Father", "Reunions", "Yesterday's Enterprise", and "Redemption" part 1 and 2 are good ones to check out. "Relics" and "Unification" part 1 and 2 have nice surprises that you may enjoy.
