PS. Funny story... if the video seems slightly off throughout this, it's cause this is how I recorded the reaction. 😂 I record (and output) in 3840x1080, but for this particular reaction I accidentally recorded in 3840, but output to 1920 by mistake. 😅😅 So I had to "stretch" the squish on both sides. Yeah, I'm not that bright all the time.

I actually didn't like Ward (Brett Dalton) before his reveal in 1x17. I thought he was the typical stoic emotionally-stunted white agent guy, and really thought he was the weak link in the show. And then the reveal. And it dawned on me...all that with Ward before the reveal was Ward's interpretation of what a good guy should be. Boring. Stiff. Oh-woe-is-me. Puke. 'Cause Ward the bad guy is just straight up fucking awesome. And then--for me--Brett Dalton reaches the same heights as the rest of the cast. Fuck, I love this show.

This episode highlights one of the many things I love about this show — it doesn't waste time. Another show could have dragged its feet on revealing to the team that Ward is HYDRA, adding suspense for the sake of suspense. But not this show! It doesn't dumb down its characters either. Instead of having Skye not know what's going on or an extended "No, it can't be him, I'm imagining things" or whatever, she put Ward=HYDRA together very quickly because while the explanation is devastating, it makes sense. With very few exceptions, this show uses its time wisely, which is so refreshing.
