I've been working in games, animation, and VFX for almost twenty years - ...fuck, I'm getting old - and the amount of industry references in this show will makes me question my life choices. Because this is what I do. Every day. I build the digital purgatory Pomni and Gumigoo found themselves in. And the fudge monster gives me PTSD from having to rig slugs for the Best Fiends shorts...

David Johnson

I think the theory that Pomni was some sort of game designer is looking better. She extrapolated with what happened to her when she fell out of bed onto the alphabet block to create a deliberate glitch with the blocks under the truck - and even referred to it as a problem with "collisions." Also, Pomni's speech on not wanting people to think they're nothing I think comes from some *pre* Circus trauma. Are we getting a little Infinity Train situation in here? And, like you, I want to know why Caine looked so...haunted when he talked about Humans and NPCs getting mixed up.

Matthew Dunne

I'm after seeing a person suggest that Caine might be anxious about losing track of who is and isn't a real person because of an incident where an NPC came back from an adventure and a trapped mind was left behind when it was closed off, and he didn't immediately notice. Damn if that doesn't seem as though it would fit.

What about those figurines, Gangle? Huh? Making little Ragatha figurines? Does someone got a crush? I feel like Ragatha is projecting. Despite the fact that she was the one glitched and abandoned, she's more concerned for Pomni's wellbeing. "Nope! I'm not the one who's on the verge of losing their mind! I don't need help! This poor individual here needs MY comfort and support!" It could also be that this is the kind of care she wished she'd received when she arrived. Although... The brushing off of the harm done to her, that she's a ragdoll with one eye... may have darker implications for what her real life was like.
