I believe the implications with Tessa are that she died a long time ago either during the gala or when all the human were executed during that flashback in the episode where all the Murder Drones were wiping out the humans. And so, Cyn took possession of Tessa’s corpse and had been manipulating her body the entire time, fooling J, V and N until the very end by showing them the same care and compassion the human Tessa did when she was alive as she loved them, but looking back, you could see moments when Cyn would slip through, even in the farce of telling N they needed to kill Uzi to save the planet, which the original Tessa most likely would never have said. Very very dark.
