Catastie Day 5: Last Night
Returning to the inn, we waited for Alizée's return.
After all, Alizée has been working at the Trade Guild all this time, hasn't she?
It would be nice for her to take it easy for a bit.
As for dinner, we had fish yesterday, so maybe I should make a meat dish today.
But that'll have to wait until Alizée gets back.

"I'm back."

Oh, Alizée just returned.
Since she must be tired from the day, I'll let her shower first and then talk about what happened today.
She seemed really surprised when the topic of "Magic Embroidery" came up.

"Magic Embroidery? We don't have any Magic Embroiderers in Vardmoi."

"Huh? Is it a rare technique?"

"It's not so much rare as... it's not a technique from this country. Here, there's a strong belief that 'embroidery should be done by hand to have value,' since ancient times."

"I see."

They're still stuck with old beliefs.
If they don't embrace convenient technologies, what can they do?
Alright, I'll import it myself.

"Alizée, can you arrange for magic pattern paper needed for Magic Embroidery to be purchased in Vardmoi?"

"Lady Lily, you're really going to do this?"

"I don't care about old beliefs."

"In that case, I'll make arrangements for you to purchase it from Catastie. Let's handle the first procurement before you return to Vardmoi tomorrow."

"Understood. Thank you for your help."

"No, thank you. And when you are ready to sell your Magic Embroidery, please favor the Vardmoi Trade Guild."

She's quite shrewd.
Though, I do have an inseparable relationship with the Vardmoi Trade Guild.

It seems Alizée has other reports to make, so I'll listen to those next.

First, let's talk about seaweed.
It seems that besides the kombu and wakame they have been procuring, other types of seaweed have started to be discovered.
More precisely, some fishermen tried eating what they hadn't eaten before, and when they didn't get food poisoning, everyone started eating it.
There are always challengers, no matter the era.
It seems they're consulting about whether they can sell it to Vardmoi, too.
Personally, I welcome the increase in food variety, and if it's safe to eat and not poisonous, The Spiderlings’ Nest can cook it deliciously.
Since I'm afraid to buy large quantities from the beginning, I decided to only buy the amount needed for trials at my home and the Spiderlings’ Nest.

Next, there was a request to change the wholesale price of some fish.
Currently, the wholesale price of fish is fixed.
However, this seems to cause problems during poor fishing seasons.
So, there's a request to raise the purchase price only during poor fishing seasons.
It was a mystery why this request came to me, but it seems it's because I was the first to start bulk purchasing fish.
It seems like they expect others to follow suit if I start a price fluctuation system.
I agreed to raise the price during poor fishing seasons, but I also requested that they lower it during good fishing seasons at the same time.
I plan to procure fish based on fluctuating prices from now on.

Lastly, there was a request to export the clothes and armor I make to Catastie.
The clothes I make are relatively cheap as new items.
Except for being exclusively for women, the armor is slightly discounted from black to blue.
There was an offer to purchase these from Catastie and sell them at the directly managed stores of the Catastie Trade Guild.
It's a great opportunity for performance improvement, but I wonder how much quantity they'll demand...
I decided to handle this deal, starting from small quantities because I'm not just making clothes all the time.

Alizée brought back these requests.
Tomorrow, she'll just convey these results to the Catastie Trade Guild before returning.
Before she leaves, I want to eat Jais, the pseudo Keema curry again.
