I've been thinking about Red Caps a lot lately, and generally. They're in the goblin family, but can oft be mistaken for gnomes - at least from a distance. They are wicked and malevolent little creatures usually described as 'powerful, diminutive old men.' Their caps, which they rarely take off must be dipped in fresh blood daily, or at least as often as they can. If the hat ever dries out completely they may perish, or become depowered. Some stories suggest it must be human blood, but Rendy here is content with any creature that has red blood pumping through its veins to add color to his cap. (I suppose they can't be vegetarian either!) In addition to their striking headwear, a Red Cap has bright red eyes, sharp teeth and iron boots and a pikestaff. They can sometimes be called Redcombs and Bloody Caps. They originate in old Scottish and British folklore and are said to inhabit the ruins of old castles.

Though they are usually bloodthirsty little creatures who revel in slaughter, Rendy here has a surprising partnership with a Garden Gnome named Greenwise. Perhaps the gnome has rubbed off on Rendy too as the old Red Cap now only dips his hat in the blood of creatures he intends to eat and gets out his latent aggression in the form of unbridled lust with his gnomish partner!

Oh, a Red Cap? That's a bold and interesting choice! I'm betting that the story of how he and a gnome fell for each other is quite interesting, and how they've STAYED that way is likely another adventure. Good/great sex tends to help a lot, I'm sure.

I would be tempted to test if another substance could suit his red hat, maybe something white maybe...
