VHS rental at the small little local store. We didn't have cable or even later satellite. But for birthdays we got to rent a movie for the weekend. I don't know why my parents just didn't give me this movie as a present instead, given how many times I rented it.

We had one, too! Curry Home Video in Bloomfield, N.J. Over 10,000 titles! He had EVERYTHING, God bless him! Foreign, cult, art-house, documentaries, "banned in other countries", the "adult" room off to the side 😄, concert videos. They had an alphabetical/numerical card-catalogue bank of drawers, just like a library, & tables with pencils & paper to write down all your choices. I used to think "The chains will NEVER put this family out of business" but technology did. R.I.P. 📼💿

The movie was filmed around Lone Pine, California, which is sort of near the Nevada border (Nevada is where the movie is supposed to take place) and Death Valley. As for the guns, an elphant gun is unfortunately for killing elephants. And as for vuying guns, it really depends where you buy them. Some places you have to get a lisence and wait like a week or two to buy them (it's to prevent somekne from buying and gun and immediately killing someone because they are mad) and other places (like Florida) where you can go to a gun show and buy a gun without even needing a background check. And yes, seizemologist, seizemology, and seizemograph are real words, lol

I was in a teeny little town in southern Arizona. I think it was called prime time video. Probably less than 500 titles. I remember walking through the horror section and seeing all the crazy slip covers. Growing up in a very religious home I was relegated to few options to choose from but Tremors somehowade the cut. I swear Burts gun basement wall is why I got into competition shooting.

Dawn I could teach you to survive literally any scenario the key is to be mentally prepared. You don't need a lot you just need enough to survive and be able to carry everything. And yes seismologist is a real thing they study earthquakes and volcanoes and the underground wave propagation caused by both of them. xxxx

Dawn, though I was taught all about the use of "household chemicals in proper proportion" by Uncle Sam during my 30 years as an EOD technician, I've found much of the info is in any good encyclopedia from before about 1965. (Days when any knowledge was OK 😉)

I loved the movie! If you like it hot any of the mid west states would work. Arizona might be your best bet. In Arizona you can carry a handgun if you are at least 11 years old. They changed the laws a while ago so now you need you parents permission to carry a handgun. You might have to be a state resident before you can buy guns, that might take 6 months, but then you can buy the whole gun store if you want. You don’t need a license or training, Don’t drive around with a half dozen handgun in your car, you could be charged with gun trafficking, which is a federal crime. You need a federal firearms license to buy and sell guns. You can just look on the internet to find out how to make a bomb. If you are worried about getting on a watch list, you can use a VPN. That is a company that you pay to hide you IP address so what you look at cannot be traced back to you. They are called Preppers, people who prepare for the end of the world. You can stream shows about Preppers. You can learn a lot. The Mormons are required by their religion to keep a years worth of food, You can look on YouTube to see how to jar food for several people and it will last for years. It looks easy. The Elephant Gun was an antique, that is why it was in a locked glass case. It was used by Europeans to shoot and kill elephants in Africa. If you saw the movie Jumanji, the hunter had an elephant gun and could not get bullets anymore.
