The story of the video is part of the story behind the album Plagiarism. The protagonist call himself a thief of music, the song is about his wife who passed away and the video itself is on the perspective of his wife as a ghost seeing him suffering knowing she has passed a way (that’s why the corgi not responding to the hand) and also reflecting on the day they met. The night scene where she is playing the Beethoven.

Yorushika is truly special, all of their albums have concepts they follow, like robin commented this song is from the album Plagiarism following a story of a guy struggling with the success of his music as he feels like all he did was plagiarize other songs and got all the credit, this video however is told from the perspective of his dead wife and some of their precious moments together. In case you are interested this song also has a live version uploaded on their channel. Fun fact is the live version was performed a few hours before the song came out (it was a online live show during covid). Also another fun fact the guy that is doing the male harmonies is also n-buna, the guitariat and composer for the band, they actually have a song called 451 featuring him as the main vocalist.

Yea it is interesting the difference between what seems to get popular on Japanese charts vs the west. I'm sure there's a ton of reasons behind it but its undoubtedly part of the reason that at least I personally have gotten so into Japanese music. There's probably a ton of western bands I'd be super into if I heard some of their stuff but its just so easy to find a bunch of variety in Japanese music (especially if you watch anime) in comparison to having to go look for western artists doing similar things.

I enjoy this setup! In regards to the background image, you can maybe just have a stock image of what you're watching. In cases with anime, a poster background for that anime, or for these patreon requests maybe the artist logo or something pertaining to what you're watching, and if nothing can be found then what you had in this video's background is lovely as well.

n-buna is the producer/composer for yorushika while suis is the vocalist. they pretty much just release all their music on n-buna's channel.
