Since you mentioned ivan the gorilla. Disney made a movie about him. Called "the one and only Ivan". with quite a stacked cast too. Sam rockwell playing ivan, and Bryan cranston playing the human main character. Other actors in it are even danny devito and angelina jolie, for example. Might be worth checking out too

My guy really said "I gotta check out the Percy Jackson one" (Reffering to king kong) 😂🤣😅. I beleive you mean Peter Jackson sir. This is a great one though. Lots of gut wrenching parts too. I also can't stand seeing animals be hurt. Whether it's this, Jurrasic Park, Terminator etc., any time you play God it doesn't end up going very well.
